Couriers take on county 10k track challenge.

Screen Shot 2018-08-02 at 12.47.26A small group of Couriers took part in the Herefordshire 10,000m track championships last night at Hereford Leisure Centre.

The race which is made up of 25 gruelling laps of the athletics track, Runners were faced with a headwind all the way along the back straight but the reds dug-in deep to pick up medals and PB’s on the night.

Clare Mallender picked up a fantastic Sliver Medal in the race being the 2nd lady home in 46:36, Ross Cameron continues to pick up medals coming home in 42;00 to pick up Silver in the Junior Men Category. Chris Cleary and Ben Skinner worked together to pick up personal best performances with Chris recording his first sub 40 10k in 39:53 and Ben taking his best time down by another 40 seconds to 40:33. Will Maul had another good run on return from injury stopping the watch on 42:38 & Kev Barnes (who was sporting Hereford Athletics Club Colours for the evening) dug in nursing a injury to come home in 52mins.

Next up on the track is the 5,000m track champs, Wednesday 15th August, 7:15pm Start. £2 entry fee.
