A group of Hereford Couriers supported the local Hereford ParkRun this weekend by volunteering as pacers to help runners achieve some new personal best performances.
A team of Ben Skinner (22mins), Jonathan Edwards (25mins), Izzie Seal (28mins) Kelly Marshall (30mins) Kev Barnes (32mins) & Alan Rowlands (35mins) took on the task of getting runners home in their allocated times to help runners pick up new best times.
Well done to all those runners who dug in deep to record new best times, we had 32, 16% of the 198 strong field record new Hereford Parkrun PB’s, with plenty of positive comments from runners and volunteers, One of those who picked up a new 5k best was Sarah Elwine.
Sarah Tweeted “Thanks to all of the @HfdCouriersRC pacers to their work this morning at @HerefordParkrun, Thanks to their help I broke the 30 min barrier for 5k (29:45) and achieved another @ParkrunUK PB! #LoveParkrun”
The Hereford Parkrun has become a key part of many of the Couriers weekly running routines, Please visit http://www.parkrun.org.uk/hereford/ for more information or to sign up for the FREE weekly 5k every Saturday 9am at Hereford Leisure Centre.
We will be looking to put more regular parkrun pacers in to these runs in the future.
