On a weekend that we had the first ever sub 2 hour and the women's marathon world record tumbled, Closer to home here is our Weekly Running Update. 🎽Jim, Ally & Ross took part in the Hope Valley Run, a new course for 2019 but the same old mud and hills! Ross picked up 2nd place 56:43, Jim finished in 1:10 with Ally finishing in time of 1:21 👟It was the Birmingham Half (ish) Marathon for Jake Cullum-Hollins, unfortunately the course had to be shortened for safety reasons but Jake had a great run, finishing in a time of 1:37:05 over 11miles. Continuing to make great progress Jake! 🏃♂️The first race of the Herefordshire Cross Country League headed to Fforest Fields, Builth. Not a great turnout for the first round but well done to stalwarts Amy Smith 14th female 56.31, Geoff Kay 52:07 with Steve Herington close behind in 53:12 👍 🏃♀️Gloucestershire Cross Country League kicked off this weekend at Wooton-under-Edge, regulars Andy, Bronwen and Mandy were joined by Ryan & Izzie but they all seemed to enjoy the chocolate river!

🏅Mandy Nolan 32.42 (145th) 👟Victoria Woodhall was flying the red flag at the Eden Project Marathon finishing in a fantastic time of 4:43:30 on a tough and muddy course. 🎽On Saturday we helped Hereford parkrun with their 5th Birthday celebrations, It was Sarah’s Birthday too! Kev was Superman & we had 2 lovely suprises firstly the course was run in reverse and secondly as part of the celebrations they give the Ali Jones Award and this year it was was presented to the Tyler Family, Very well deserved Fred, Eva, Bron & Andy (and Rhu-Dog) who are very regular faces at Hereford parkrun. Friendly, generous, kind and helpful - that describes them well, By chance, they were all volunteering too. Their rule seems to be - after a pb, we give back by volunteering. Congrats on the award! We also had a first place for Ben too! 🏃♀️With this talk of marathons Hollie Francis was our only lucky runner to be successful on the London Marathon Ballot, She will be joined by Sheryl (good for age), Charlotte & Anna (charity places)
