Sunday 12th June was the day when all April and May’s rain fell in one long outpouring, most of it over the Black Mountains by the feel of it. But this was not enough to stop a small but impressively hoary Couriers squad cleaning up in the vets stakes at the Darrens Dash fell race. It was a team of winners! Neil, beginning to recapture his true form, was 1st V40 in 6th overall in 40.00. Biker boy Littlewood, his heart rate at max was 10th in 42.25 for 1st V55 with Dave Williams, arguably not best advised to wear carpet slippers on the greasy slopes, 11th in 43.10 and 1st V45, some 50 seconds clear of “Old Buzzard” Herington 13th and 1st V60. We were singing in the rain, not a loser among us!
